Happy Birthday Jonathan - 3 years old

Jonathan's birthday is actually on the 12 of May. But today was his family party at mom & dad's place (Rachel and Ralph).
The kids and we had a lot of fun and ate well.

A bit out of focus, but Shai wanted to try out Dalia's new swimming glasses.

New passport pictures

We needed to renew our passports so we took a few mugshots pictures.
Shai (in her pyjamas) demanded that a photo of her will also be taken while she's standing by the wall.

Dr. Dalia saves the rabit

On Israel's independence day Dalia was on call. She got an emergency call from a young girl (13) that said that her rabbit was dying and she asked to put it to sleep.
When Dalia saw the rabbits condition she could not bring herself to do it and decided to try and save the rabbit. She brought it home and took care of it in the following two days and nights and she saved it.
Meanwhile, Shai and Alex enjoyed a rabbit pet at home.

We're trying to get Shai to start using the toilet. It's not easy.
She's trying very hard to imitate us but she still can't solve those 'hard' sodokos in the Haarets newspaper.

Eating spaghetti

One nice Saturday noon we stopped at Gillis in the TA harbor.
Alex ate the classic hamburger meal and Dalia took the spaghetti dish which Shai could not stop eating.

Marianne's 70th Birthday

We celebrated Marianne's 70th Birthday.
Many friends came to the very nice restaurant Juliet Kitchen (very recommended for a delicious dinner).
Dalia, Mike and I prepared this nice presentation covering Marianne history. It includes many cute pictures of Marianne, her family and many of her good friends.

Alex's Birthday

Just like any other boy, I like my birthday cake with chocolate coating and candies! I even got a few candles to blow out.

Purim 2008

Weekend at kibuts Dalia (+Kangaroos @ Gan Guru)

All the Rosenbaum family went on a weekend to kibuts Dalia. The grandparents: Rachel and Ralph, the grandchildren: Jonathan & Shai, and Vanina, Danny, Dalia and Alex.

Like most kibutsing there are plenty of animals and Shai, loving them all, has to pet each and every one.

One of the mornings we visited the Gangaro, an Australian park, where the kids can pet the sweet Kangaroo.

One hot early spring day

Alex promised Shai a swimming pool party on Friday noon but in our flat we don't really have a pool or even room for one.
Well, with my brains and Shai's wishful thinking we overcame the above small hurdles.

Day at the beach

After going to the beach so many times this summer I had to take some video's and photo's to share with you.

This is at the Herzelia beach just by the marina.
Shai just loves the water and you can see how she enjoys to play with the waves that are coming at her.

First day at school

Shai is just 1.8 years old and this is the first day of the kindergarten. She just loves her new pink bag and would not take no for an answer when she asked to carry it.

Our baby Hedgehog

Yesterday a friend called Dalia (the neighborhood vet) and told her she found a baby hedgehog on her door step.
Dalia ran to the rescue and saw this very small and very scared hedgehog.

We called him 'Shmulik', after the kids video 'Shmulik the hedgehog' (שמולק קיפוד).
Shmulik is about 10cm long and weighs about 46g.

Last night Dalia fed Shmulik and gave him a hot water bottle to sleep on and he seems much better.

Shai opened her first door

This morning Shai walked into our dressing closet, just like any other morning and closed the door behind her for her hide-and-seek game. Usualy it ends up with her starting to call for us to open the door for her.

Suddenly Dalia sees the door nob move downwards, and voila, Shai steps out!!

So I had to step in (with my camera) and see how it happens.
